Tom M Mitchell is a Research Fellow with Megagon Labs. He is best known as a founder of the first academic machine learning department in the world, founded at CMU, in 1996 (named CALD at that time). His book, “Machine Learning”, was the first worldwide adopted textbook on the subject (1st edition published in 1997). Through his years in the field, he has garnered countless achievements and awards. Through his works, he has been an inspiration to generations and has helped continue the advancement of computer science.
