Hayate Iso, Nikita Bhutani, and Estevam Hruschka were invited to give talks on CoCoSum, Entity Set Expansion (ESE), and Zero-shot Triplet Extraction by Template Infilling (ZETT) at Recruit Co Ltd’s internal event in Tokyo, Japan.
Hayate shares his experience in his double feature presentations of CoCoSum:
I’m excited to share my experience at Recruit Co Ltd‘s largest knowledge-sharing event. I had the opportunity to present our comparative opinion summarization project, CoCoSum.
Hayate Iso, Megagon Labs, presents CoCoSum.
Unlike previous years, where presentations were exclusively aimed at engineers, I was honored to present our project twice: once to a broader audience, including sales, management, and other departments, and the other specifically for engineers.
During this event, I faced the challenge of explaining our academic study to a non-technical audience. To ensure that everyone could understand, I completely restructured the materials, making them clear and easy to comprehend, even for those without prior knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI.
As a result, the presentations were a tremendous success! I received numerous questions from people on the business side, who were interested in the content of the presentations and how to apply our research to products. Everyone also praised the clarity of the presentations and expressed that they found them highly understandable. I believe that this significantly contributed to impressing the value of Megagon Labs throughout Recruit.

Furthermore, during the event for engineers, Estevam and Nikita presented on Entity Set Expansion (ESE), which was accepted at NAACL Findings 2022, and Zero-shot Triplet Extraction by Template Infilling (ZETT) (currently under submission), a project I was also involved in. Despite the presentations being delivered in English, they garnered significant attention and interest.
We continue in our efforts to improve and expand the CoCoSum, ZETT, and ESE projects while we grow in our expertise in Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. Follow us on LinkedIn and check out our blog to stay up to date with our works.
