Hybrid query processing runs a single question across data that is part structured and part free text. In a semi-structured table, the value a filter needs may sit inside a comments field rather than in its own column. A hybrid system compiles the question into a plan that mixes relational operators, which a SQL engine can execute, with semantic operators that call a language model only where structure has to be recovered from text.
